New Zealand and the crisis of states in the shadow of big brother

Not many would like to be in the shadow of a strong popular person, object or animal for that matter and states are no different either. Talking of states,  a lot of us will think of Canada in the shadow of US, New Zealand in that of Australia, and Portugal in that of Spain. Well, state popularity contest aside, lets talk about New Zealand for a while and the recent stories coming out of that far away place.

New Zealand might be seen by some, especially by Aussies, as the country in their backyard that is in the shadows, let me debunk this myth. In my world, Australia is in the shadow of New Zealand and not vice versa. One, All Blacks rugby team can make any country proud if they played for them, they might have lost to countries like Fiji, Samoa but whenever they play they leave memories behind that makes rugby fans yearn for more....... and lets not even mention the performance which of course will not be complete without Haka dance.

Second, it is in New Zealand where you can find The Shire, yes, Earthlings, the middle earth is in New Zealand, this just puts New Zealand on the top of the list of cool states. Fantasy adventure brought to life, all you need is six meals a day and a little hair on your feet to feel at home, and if you are more than six feet tall, you'll always dress up as Gandalf and hang out with the Hobbits, well maybe the locals might laugh at you, but what the hell, go ahead and do it anyway you are in NZ!

And finally, I will have to point out that most of the time a country is thrust into the limelight after a group of their lawmakers decide to loose the little brains they posses. An example is US lawmakers talking about women genitalia having super powers to reject rape sperm and to things like building electric fence along their border with Mexico as a solution to illegal immigration. Well, New Zealand's lawmakers after signing marriage equality bill, burst into song, cool, tolerant and laid back maybe?

Well, that's all for now about New Zealand, later maybe later I might come up with something amazing about this far away place or simply come across one.
